Senior Project Officer Fixed term role: 2 yearsUsual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)The Role The Senior Project Officer is part of a team leading the delivery of boating infrastructure projects across Victoria, including boat ramp upgrades, that are funded through the Better Boating Fund with the relevant asset manager.
The responsibilities of the Senior Project Officer will include:
Facilitate the efficient and effective planning and delivery of a set of boating infrastructure projects.Assist asset managers through the tendering and construction phase of relevant projects.Work cooperatively with boating team colleagues, staff across the VFA, relevant government departments/agencies, local governments, planning authorities and interest groups to facilitate delivery of boating initiatives.The Team The position of Senior Project Officer forms a part of the Boating and Infrastructure branch within the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
As a statutory authority, the VFA has the responsibility of managing Victoria's fisheries resources in a coordinated and strategic way to ensure their ongoing sustainability, while supporting the value they deliver to the commercial, recreational, aquaculture and Indigenous fishing sectors.
About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Project Management: Produces clear project plans where objectives are well defined and steps for achieving them are clearly specified.Experience relevant to the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects: Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience associated with the planning, approvals and delivery of boating infrastructure projects or similar, relevant projects.Relationship building: Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of different views.Further Information For a confidential discussion, please contact Anthony Walkley, Manager Boating Project Delivery on 0459 966 209 or ******.
