About the role: The Senior Project Officer will lead and contribute to the key projects and functions of the Safety branch. As a member of the Patient Safety and Experience Team, you will work with the Manager, (Patient Safety and experience) to support and coordinate the Sentinel Event Program. The role will be a member of a team responsible for the development of systems and processes to improve the use of sentinel events notified to Safer Care Victoria to drive quality and safety improvements at a service and system level.
The Senior Project Officer will also work with the broader Patient Safety and experience team to develop and implement the patient safety and experience program within SCV. This will include supporting incident investigation, response and training processes to ensure learnings translate into safer health care for all Victorians.
The Senior Project Officer will work with key staff, including Academy members, and ensure a systematic approach to reviewing serious events and systems of care, ensuring that resulting recommendations are appropriate, have suitable measures of success and will result in robust and effective improvements to the Victorian healthcare systems.
The Senior Project Officer will also contribute to the development of broader SCV quality and safety program initiatives and assist in coordinating responses to emerging patient experience and outcome issues. The successful candidate will work on key improvement projects as well as support a range of professional leadership activities.
