THE ROLE
Senior Program Officer The Senior Program Officer Housing First will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Housing First for Young People Leaving Residential Care initiative. This initiative is aimed at providing a dedicated and supported housing pathway for eligible young people leaving residential care.
The role will interface with housing providers, child protection practitioners and other key representatives from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
identification of young people eligible for the initiative and making referralsconfirming eligibility and acceptance to ensure the target cohort is appropriate and engaged.working with professionals to ensure the effective engagement of the young person.developing and maintaining relationships with other like roles across divisions, including service delivery professionals and specialist services.oversight of leaving care planning as it relates to the conclusion of the young persons engagement with the initiative.The position will require high level written and verbal skills, highly developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to be responsive to tasks in a timely manner.
The position will also have a divisional focus and requires the person to have face to face engagement with stakeholders from across the East Division
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.  Please open the position description to read more.
