About the role: The Senior Project Officer (Improvement Science and Change Management Capability Lead) is a  member of the Capability Development team within the Clinical Governance, Culture and Capability (CGC&C) Program. The CGC&C program supports the Victorian health sector to develop the organisational conditions for safety and quality, thereby preventing harm and ensuring high-quality, reliable, and person-centred care. The organisational conditions include the leadership behaviours, workforce capability, policies, frameworks, and practices, change interventions, and ability to respond to risk and harm in the system. 
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for leading the improvement science and change management capability development aspect of SCV's capability development program for change agents in the health system. They will collaborate closely with the Co-design and Partnering; and Safety and Human Factors Leads in the Capability Development Team and the SCV Improvement Branch.
The Capability Development Team will be leading work in the following areas:
Quality and Safety capability framework developmentSector partnerships to support workforce development through implementation of capability frameworksDesigning and leading internal capability programs in quality improvement, partnering with consumers and safety as required.The Senior Project Officer will coordinate and lead improvement science and change management components of the capability framework development and implementation. This will include establishing and maintaining partnerships with individual and organisation stakeholders in quality improvement, coordinating relevant Communities of Practice and supporting the continuous improvement and strengthening of internal capability within SCV as a Quality and Safety leading organisation.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the application of improvement science to create sustainable change for improvement in a healthcare setting and, have experience and understanding of effective lived experience principles and practice. Design and delivery of learning sessions on improvement science and change management will be an aspect of the role. Experience using adult learning principles, capability measurement and evaluation and workshop facilitation will be valuable in this role.
The Senior Project Officer reports to the Capability Development Manager and will work in collaboration with subject matter experts and other team members to contribute to the work of the team and SCV to ensure design, implementation and delivery reflects up-to-date expertise, and the SCV Corporate Plan and strategic objectives.
