The Senior Project Officer leads the identification, design and delivery of projects and policies focused on improving equity of access to Victorian health services, particularly for people who are underserved by the existing system or more likely to experience poor outcomes.
This role reports to the manager of the Equity & Access Projects team and works closely with colleagues across the team, broader unit and branch, to respond to new and changing government priorities and community needs.
In this role you will be required to: Lead and contribute to a range of projects that deliver on government system improvement commitments to provide better access to care for vulnerable children, LGBTIQA+ people, multicultural communities, people with a disability and other underserved groups.
Support the delivering of high-profile reform work- current examples include the Victorian government response to NDIS changes and the establishment of foundational supports for children with a disability, Child Health and Wellbeing locals, and the landmark Public Fertility Care program.
Develop strong working relationships with diverse colleagues from across the department and public service, to develop and deliver collaborative solutions to complex system and service issues.
Operate in a dynamic environment with curiosity, enthusiasm and initiative.
Develop effective relationships with a range of external stakeholders, including managers and operational staff in health services, and represent the department with professionalism in a range of forums.
Use your strong analytical, systems thinking and communication skills to develop well-reasoned and strategic policy advice for departmental executives and government.
