ABOUT THE OFFICE The office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic leads the development, implementation, ongoing monitoring and performance of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy, Academic Programs and Student Experience, with a focus on key areas of curriculum innovation, digital delivery, equity and student and external engagement.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Project Officer (DCV Academic) manages and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects (including University-wide and strategic projects) to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives. The position reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic on the Fremantle campus.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate across stakeholder groups to manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development and implementation for a range of complex and comprehensive projects.Management of briefings for the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Office.Manage the project cycle, including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established contemporary project management methodology.Communicate updates on project progress and prepare a range of project related documents and communication pieces to support stakeholder engagement and the flow of project information.Establish and manage stakeholder relationships, across different levels and functions, through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met.Manage projects to ensure compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes.Undertake research and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making.Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and support project team members in implementing and prioritising project tasks to facilitate effective project management and implementation.Provide secretariat support for project governance groups to ensure effective implementation of project objectives within the established timeframes and allocated budget.
 ABOUT YOU A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as project management, business administration, higher education and leadership, or a related discipline) or equivalent professional experience.
Substantial experience in project management or a related field, preferably in the tertiary education sector and in progressively responsible roles.Experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects, across cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups (from senior executives to clients) and delivering projects on time and within budget.Demonstrated strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, set goals, allocate resources, monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Highly developed analytical skills with proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions is important for evaluating project performance, identifying areas for improvement, and optimizing project outcomes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project objectives, status updates, and deliverables.
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and documentation.Adept problem solving and analytical skills.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.Manage documentation and ensure all project activities are well coordinated and aligned with strategic objectives.Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
