Senior Project Manager - Technology
The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for managing project activities that deliver technology solutions across the Global Transaction Services (GTS), supporting Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB).
Role Profile
This role is part of the Westpac One Core team, providing technology project solutions/capabilities to meet dynamic WIB business requirements. Work portfolio is varied, encompassing many streams of work on the large scale strategic transformation program.
Responsibilities include:

Management and oversight of the end to end project design and delivery - schedule and milestones, budget, resource, vendor engagements, contracts management.
Management of all risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions within each stream/squad. Focus on timely and effective resolution.
Management of stakeholders – engaging, informing, and influencing across technology, business, finance, commercial, etc.
Ensure strong governance – preparing and leading project delivery and steering committee meetings to drive best-practice delivery.
Ensure adherence to Enterprise methodologies and processes, such as Agile Execution Framework (AEF).
Optimise project scope definition and delivery to ensure alignment in meeting business requirements.
Undertake costs and benefits estimation and accurately forecast project costs and benefits adhering to the project finance framework.
Optimise activities and processes to gain efficiencies, continuous improvement, accelerate throughput with higher quality outcomes for large and complex projects/programs, providing direction or guidance to others.

A strong focus of the role is to ensure solutions delivered are effective, efficient, and sustainable in supporting the business requirements. A positive and constructive ownership mindset is essential.
What do I need?
To be set up for success in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

Proven track record in successfully leading and managing medium/large technology projects with many of the following characteristics:

Indicative cost up to $20M
Project Impact: Medium to High
Project Risk: Medium to High
Multiple sub project / teams
Multiple end deliverables (more complex)
Strong reliance on blended teams of internal and external partners to deliver
Vendor and contract management

5+ years of experience delivering E2E technology
2+ years of experience in financial services industry would be well regarded
Experience and knowledge of financial markets payments (or related) technology would be highly regarded
Experience in Agile ways of working would be highly regarded
Experience with the use of Jira would be highly regarded
Experience and knowledge of infrastructure implementations would be well regarded
