Role Description: To support our Victorian Civil Infrastructure Business, we are seeking a talented Senior Project Manager/Project Director to lead our Project Management Team as well as to undertake the role of either Senior Project Manager or Project Director on a variety of infrastructure projects in Melbourne.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing civil infrastructure projects for government and contractor clients and a variety of contract forms, ranging from Design Only to Design & Construct (D&C) and Alliances. Possessing a wide range of experience, we are looking for someone with a genuine desire to develop and mentor our current and aspiring project managers and also, develop and grow our project management capability locally.
As a Project Leader you will possess a balance between a strong commercial acumen and the need to establish long-term relationships with clients by ensuring we deliver to their needs and expectations.
Role Accountabilities: Provide sound and effective leadership to the team, providing direction and advice, leading by example to achieve company goals and champion a quality culture. Maintain an overview of the commercial aspects of the team's portfolio of projects and drive project performance, service delivery, and commercial outcomes. Ensure that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate. Undertake project reviews and ensure that client delivery is above expectation. Work to ensure maximum client satisfaction, champion client care, and proactively work with clients to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed to avoid adverse impacts on projects. Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships, resolve high-level issues, and ensure project success. Mentor, grow, and develop the team to ensure that team members reach their full potential. Support the development of new business pursuits and bids. Lead the compilation of tender documents for clients and critically review tender returns, contract negotiations, the award of contracts, and client reporting. Qualifications & Experience: We are seeking somebody with a strong fit to our leadership success profile, to build and drive our culture of inclusion, accountability, human-centricity, and sustainability. You are a seasoned project management professional thriving in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with strong industry ties and have demonstrated credibility in a consulting environment. Your career to date will include:
Extensive experience of managing projects in a consultancy environment for both government and contractor clients, with broad exposure to different forms of contract with at least 5 years of major project experience. A sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures and a demonstrable ability to take commercial responsibility for projects. Holding a recognised degree or equivalent qualification relating to a technical field: Engineering or Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or relatable trade experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team. Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client.
