The role will require undertaking management activities that include planning, procurement, consultant and project management, contributing to the realization of benefits for government high value, complex building infrastructure projects.
Level 8 The Principal Project Manager, as a member of a multi-disciplinary project team, will provide strategic leadership and direction, managing teams of staff, stakeholders, consultants and subject matter experts. The role will require management across multiple technical and specialist domains to ensure needs are met in relation to the delivery of the project to the approved scope, budget and timeframe.
The above positions operate in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from 'doing' to supporting others to 'do good work'; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
Buildings & Contracts – Inner City Primary School Level 8 The Principal Project Manager will work within a collaborative project team on the unique vertical Inner City Primary School in East Perth to deliver the project to the client agency requirements. The role will require management across multiple technical and specialist domains to ensure needs are met in relation to the delivery of the project to the approved scope, budget and timeframe.
This position operates in the context of Leading Leaders. This means you will be required to deliver results through leaders and your teams in a single business area, and by influencing leaders in other business areas. You will add value by providing direction and developing and coaching your leaders to achieve operational objectives. You will make decisions about how services should be provided based on the resources at hand.
About You: You have demonstrated experience in complex and high-risk building and infrastructure projects and programs of work, either in the public and/or private sector. If you have skills and experience in project management, contract management, architectural/engineering/building or ICT project delivery, we want to hear from you.

While this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twenty-four (24) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
