About the Role This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager specializing in Construction & PMO to take charge of the mobilisation and construction efforts on a significant rolling stock and rail systems project.
Offered as an initial 6-month contract , this role focuses on coordinating installation and on-site operations during the mobilisation phase, ensuring that project goals are met, and high standards are consistently upheld.
Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing the project for seamless execution by managing cross-functional collaboration among teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the mobilisation phase, making sure construction and installation tasks align with project standards and client objectives.
Foster close collaboration across different teams, working seamlessly with both internal divisions and consortium partners to drive cohesive project advancement.
Manage PMO responsibilities, including scheduling, documentation, and project tracking, to maintain on-time milestones and comprehensive reporting.
Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and budget adherence, focusing on the mobilisation phase and ensuring all activities comply with contractual and regulatory guidelines.
Offer vital support for any necessary modifications or contractual adjustments, collaborating with the Project Director to implement changes smoothly.
Organise and prepare construction site activities, overseeing essential stages such as installation, testing, and commissioning.
Develop and apply proactive risk management strategies to address potential challenges, ensuring consistent progress toward project goals.
Skills & Experience Extensive experience in project management with a focus on construction and PMO  Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure or railway projects highly regarded .
Proven expertise in managing early phases of a project, including installation and mobilisation, to facilitate smooth handovers to delivery teams.
Skilled in engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders, representing the company to consortium partners, internal teams, and external collaborators effectively.
Strong foundation in project management tools, risk assessment, and scheduling practices, enabling efficient progress tracking and resource allocation.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, known for fostering collaboration and effectively resolving issues in high-paced settings.
Deep understanding of cost control and quality management in construction, with a focus on maintaining both profitability and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
This role is ideal for a strategic and collaborative leader who thrives in complex project environments, ensuring project quality and alignment through each stage of development.
