The Technology Transformation team is responsible for delivering a range of data and analytics projects, ranging from the delivery of new capabilities for Group Data and our business partners to the delivery of compliance programs.

You will be integral to helping Group Data achieve its vision by playing a key role in the delivery of analytics and business intelligence Programs for Westpac.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of Data Transformation projects within the Customer Mastering Initiative.
The successful candidate will ensure the effective planning, execution, and delivery of multiple data transformation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
This role requires a balance of project management expertise and deep knowledge of data systems, migration processes, and governance.

Your key responsibilities include: Project Management: Oversee all phases of the data transformation project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure adhering to the organizations Delivery Excellence standards.
Scope & Delivery: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Data Migration & Transformation: Manage the transition from legacy data systems to target model, ensuring smooth data migration and integration processes.
Resource Management: Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for flawless execution of projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and implement contingency plans to maintain project momentum.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key business stakeholders, data architects, engineers, and analytics teams to ensure project alignment with business needs.
Budget & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, track project expenditures, and ensure cost efficiency.
Change Management: Collaborate with the Change Management team to drive organizational adoption of new data processes and systems.
Project Reporting: Provide regular project updates, including project progress, risks, and milestones to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure that all data-related projects comply with internal data governance policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Support, coach, and mentor the team where required.
In all the above, act as the ambassador for our business stakeholders to understand the business objectives and lead with the business outcome at the core of the change.

What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience, education and/or expertise:
Essential: Experience: 8+ years of experience in end-to-end project management, with at least 3 years leading large-scale data transformation or IT projects.
Project Management Expertise: Strong background in managing complex / multiple, multi-faceted projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification is highly desirable.
Data Knowledge: Understanding of data migration, data integration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ETL processes, and data governance principles.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey project details to stakeholders at all levels.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple projects and ensure timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Change Management: Experience leading and managing change initiatives related to data transformation or system migrations.
Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience working in a data-driven environment.
Certification in Agile, Scrum, or other project management frameworks.
