As our Senior Project Manager supporting the Community Sewerage Program (CSP), you'll play a part in driving positive change for the communities we serve.

Permanent, full-time opportunity

True hybrid working - work from home and our Mitcham office

$176,505 Total Remuneration package (TRP)

This role reports to Julie Bright, within the Asset Delivery division.
The CSP aims to upgrade outdated septic systems in Melbourne's outer northern and eastern suburbs by providing new sewerage infrastructure.
With over $200 million invested over the next decade, Yarra Valley Water is committed to improving public health and environmental standards.
As Senior Project Manager, you will assist the Community Sewerage Program Manager in leading a team who oversees design and construction of these critical projects, ensuring excellent outcomes for customers, communities, and the environment.

Your key responsibilities

Supporting the Community Sewerage Program Manager to ensure the Community Sewerage Program is delivered within agreed budget and timelines and achieves agreed strategic objectives.

Supporting staff development through leadership and mentoring and overall team safety and wellbeing culture.

Participating as an effective member of the Asset Delivery leadership team and the Senior Project Manager group to contribute to corporate direction and purpose.

Identify, develop and support delivery of programs and initiatives that lead to improvement in customer services levels, reduction in risks and improved efficiency.

Represent the business in industry and community forums as required.

In conjunction with the Community Sewerage Program Manager developing and achieving Team, customer, financial and environmental outcomes aligned with company's business plans.

Manage relationships with key external stakeholder groups including Councils, DEECA, EPA and customer groups in relation to the Community Sewerage Program

Development of strong working relationships with other Senior Project Managers and Team Managers particularly across Growth Futures and Distribution Services.

Development of strong relationships with design and delivery partners to enhance the delivery of the Community Sewerage Program

Provide expertise in design and construction project management, contract management and procurement and the YVW systems associated with these processes

Providing sewerage design and construction advice to YVW internal staff and contractors, including assisting with evaluation of tenders and contractor variation claims

We are looking for someone with great technical, strategic and relationship building skills, a passion for supporting and coaching people and a desire to deliver what matters.

A great team player who understands both the strategic and technical elements of program management

Ability to quickly build effective working relationships internally and externally to influence decision making, negotiate positive outcomes and ensure business and customer expectations are achieved.

A strong understanding of engineering procedures, standards, policies and practices related to design and construction activities.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering
