About the opportunity
This role will be to support and assist in the management of all construction related activities including interfacing with a team of project managers, design engineers, schedulers, project controls, urban planners, rail operations, commercial and contracts personnel to deliver the construction input to the project including works involving interface with the metropolitan and regional networks. The scope of works includes tunnels, station boxes (with the associated mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and security related equipment), underground structures for TBM launch and recovery, station buildings, surface works, power supply facilities, train stabling yard, and depot for a new rail network.
This role reports to the Senior Delivery Manager, Tunnels North, and interfaces with many internal and external stakeholders, providing project management, technical and commercial input and subject matter expertise during the project's delivery phase, applying industry best practice techniques.
The role requires extensive expertise in large scale programs of works delivery through all the phases from concept design, construction delivery through to handover. Specific expertise in contracting in Australia in heavy civils infrastructure industry, including tunnelling, is desirable but not essential. The role requires a sound knowledge of the Australian infrastructure construction and design industry including the various forms of contracting models, with the ability to build and maintain high-level influential relationships across a broad range of stakeholders being fundamental.
