The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Senior Project Manager Position Number: POS1803 This permanent full time position provides technical support to the Team Leader Project Delivery and the Project Delivery team and to undertake design documentation and contract administration for Council's civil and building projects.
The role involves:
Coordination of the investigation and design, including the definition of project briefs, scoping documents and concept development with special regard to constructability and pragmatic project considerations that impact on the implementation of projects.Input into design and undertake design review.Engagement and management of consultants.Planning, procurement and management of works and contractors through the tender, construction and asset handover stages.Acting as the Superintendent's Representative on contract works as required.
Ensuring that the work practices of contractors, and CoL construction crews where appropriate, are in accordance with council safety standards and in compliance with the requirements of Workplace Health and Safety Act 2012 and Regulations 2022.We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Tertiary degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a related field.Minimum of 10 years' experience in project management.
Recent and relevant knowledge and experience of Standard Conditions of Contracts.Recent and relevant experience in the management and supervision of Contractors and Consultants.Proven application of project and contract management principles, a sound working knowledge of Standard Conditions of Contract and demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in the project environment.Strong understanding of Risk Management principles.Proven ability to deliver complex multi-disciplinary projectsIf you are interested, for further information and instructions on how to apply please go to the employment page of our website at www.launceston.tas.gov.auand download the Employment Information Pack for this position.
