About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to join our Maritime Sustainment delivery team based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA. Reporting to the Program Delivery Office Manager, the SPM will effectively lead and engage stakeholders. This role has a focus on team leadership and project strategy, underpinned by excellence in project delivery. In addition to delivery, the role will also focus on how project scope will support business, program and portfolio strategy. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. Key responsibilities include: Developing strategic relationships with industry partners and BAE Systems international entities Providing leadership and guidance to the project team, which is aligned to strategic business objectives Fostering a positive and collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team, including the customer, industry partners, sub-contractors and suppliers Building and maintaining a trusted relationship with the customer by being a focal point for customer contact Leading the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements Ensuring all project requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/ or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued Establishing appropriate key success indicators (KSI's) and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost About YOU Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or relevant discipline (desirable but not essential) Extensive experience in a Senior PM role with responsibility of leading project teams Excellent management and leadership skills across a multi-site environment, including the ability to lead, develop and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver program and project management services requiring high-quality results within defined timeframes Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, written and interpersonal skills, including an ability to build rapport with key stakeholders, employees at all levels and with external parties Current baseline defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
