The Transformation Delivery team is responsible for the accelerated implementation of business-critical capability across the Financial Markets business. Over the past five years the Financial Markets business has successfully delivered on its 'Fix' agenda and is now well positioned to commence investment opportunities that will grow the business and simplify and modernise the technology landscape and operating environment.
Financial Markets has an immediate opportunity for Senior Project Manager to support our transformation agenda. You will be responsible for leading and managing project activities that deliver technology solutions, enabling Financial Markets to achieve its strategic goals, business benefits and outcomes. This includes but not limited too working on the FM Platform simplification programme and vendor application upgrade.
Key accountabilities:
Manage, plan and direct all aspects of work for a project(s) to ensure it delivers outcomes necessary to realise benefits as agreed by the project sponsor.Apply a structured project management approach and methodology, ensuring adherence to internal frameworks, processes and practices to effectively manage all aspects of the project.Review project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available train resources to various phases of each project.Estimate, budget and control costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.Drive the adoption of Westpac project/program standards and work in alignment with Westpac project methodology at all timesManage change throughout the lifecycle of the project ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner with full knowledge of the impact to outcomes and realisation of benefits.Identify, plan and complete communication activities to ensure they provide information in a timely and relevant manner and clearly communicate the intended messages.Dealing with external vendors to map out dependencies.Experience working with external vendors in a challenging environment. What do I need?
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Manager with delivery of technology and risk solutions, ideally within financial services. You will ideally have experience working on Financial Markets projects with a good understanding of Credit and Market risk. You will have knowledge of project management disciplines and a strong understanding of financial markets, with good knowledge of at least one derivatives asset class. You will have a proven track record in successfully leading and managing medium/large projects. Some further advantageous experience and expertise are:
Understanding of Financial Markets platforms such as Murex or similar.Strong financial tracking expertise.Technical knowledge of platforms, from a risk and tech perspective. Not Infrastructure. What's it like to work there?
