Job DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager - Enterprise Investment Portfolio leads, manages, and successfully delivers multiple initiatives across our enterprise investment portfolio. This portfolio comprises multiple portfolios, categorized into:
Business lines such as Student Placement, Language Testing, and Digital Marketing (IDP Connect);Business areas/functions such as Finance, Technology, and People Experience.This is a full-time, permanent role based in Melbourne, with the possibility of working within a single portfolio or across several based on business needs. The role involves close liaison with Initiative Owners, other Project Managers, Sponsors, Product Managers, Business teams, and Technology Leaders to understand priorities, plan delivery, and execute required deliverables, including expected outcomes and benefits.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the financial management and governance of assigned initiatives, collaborating closely with the Commercial Manager, Finance, and Department Leads to manage investments aligned to IDP's Project Expenditure Global Policy.
This role is a member of the Technology Strategy & Enterprise Delivery team, requiring management of initiatives with team member and stakeholder engagement across various global time zones, including Melbourne, Chennai, and London.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multiple initiatives across the enterprise investment portfolio.Collaborate with Initiative Owners, Project Managers, Sponsors, Product Managers, Business teams, and Technology Leaders to understand priorities, plan delivery, and execute required deliverables.Manage the financial aspects and governance of assigned initiatives, ensuring alignment with IDP's Project Expenditure Global Policy.Engage with team members and stakeholders across global time zones, including Melbourne, Chennai, and London.RequirementsProven experience as a senior project manager, with a track record of delivering multiple projects across various business areas.Experience in managing projects that drive strong financial and commercial outcomes, such as cost savings, efficiency improvements, and revenue uplift.Effective communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a respect for diversity in the workplace.Ability to influence outcomes in a matrix-based organization, with a high level of analytical skills to capture and use data to drive decisions and manage budgets.Experience managing multiple initiatives in a portfolio, with flexibility to work across time zones, particularly India and the UK.Desirable QualificationsMinimum 10 years' experience in managing projects and delivery.Industry-recognized project management certification, such as CSM, ACP, Prince2, or PMP.Consulting experience, particularly in strategy or finance/actuarial, is highly desirable.Workshop facilitation experience, both virtual and hybrid, is also desirable.
