About the role: We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Project Lead to lead the delivery of the approved masterplan for the Semaphore Foreshore, an iconic place cherished by locals and those that visit this growing recreation and tourism destination. This landmark project will see the rejuvenation of the foreshore, whilst maintaining the unique character of the area. Procurement is currently underway to engage consultants for the detailed design of the masterplan.
The Senior Project Lead will also collaborate across the organisation with relevant project managers to coordinate the ongoing delivery of other approved masterplans for multi-function places and spaces, which are now at various stages of project delivery.
This position is crucial to realising the City Vision of a welcoming, liveable city built by its people.
What you will do: Coordinate the development and delivery Council's masterplans for large scale and multifunctional public spaces and places.Coordinate the internal multidisciplinary and cross organisational Project Control Group that supports the effective and efficient delivery of relevant masterplans through all stages of delivery.Provide specialist landscape architecture/urban design advice on Council's major capital projects as required.Identify external grant attraction opportunities and prepare grant funding submissions.Operate with a high degree of autonomy.As the Senior Project Lead you will report directly to the Manager City Development and play a key role in shaping the future of the City and its key places and spaces.
What you will bring: A tertiary qualification in landscape architecture or urban design or a similar discipline or equivalent working experience.Experience in project leading and/or managing complex large scale public realm improvements.Experience in contract management and supervision of contractors.Working knowledge of contemporary standards and guidance as they apply to the design of the multifunctional public spaces and places.Knowledge of asset management frameworks relevant to local government's planning for and management of public spaces and places.Working knowledge of best practice project management methodologies.More information can be found on the Position Description located below.
This is a Level 7 position which has a salary range of $124,098 - $131,904 per annum (plus superannuation).
