About the role We are currently seeking multiple SMP senior project engineers to join our Rail Operations hub to work on a regional rail project in Western Australia. This role will operate on a DIDO basis.
Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities Contribute to the achievement of Laing O'Rourke's safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe and un-environmentally conscious working practices and occurrences. Provide project engineering support to the construction teams to facilitate the construction process. Ongoing monitoring and reporting of work progress. Direct interface with the construction crews/subcontractors to collect data on information required for project status, cost reporting and forecasting. Support the site construction crews with developing and communication of work packages. Assisting with technical queries. Provide direction and supervision for Site and Project Engineers, as required. About you You will hold a tertiary degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Experience working for Tier 1 construction contracting companies in Australia on SMP projects (resource, large infrastructure or rail).
