Candidate ideally based in Sydney or Wagga WaggaFIFO or DIDO options are availablePermanent position with growth potential beyond the Albury to Illabo projectSenior Project Engineer About Inland Rail The Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track.
The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges.

Drive Progress on Inland Rail: Build a Legacy with your expertise
Assist the Senior Project Manager(s) in the delivery of the Inland Rail Programme and nominated projects to be delivered within scheduled timeframes, within budget and in a safe manner.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the planning, design development and delivery of the A2P Enhancement projects in accordance with IRPL's requirementsTake a lead role in working with the Design & Engineering Team to address technical queries, compliance and value for money outcomesManage the inputs of project engineer(s) in the support of the A2P Enhancement Contractor's activitiesReview and develop scope, program, cost, and safety inputs for work packages related to the Contractor's activities and validate their implementationContribute to project and Program safety requirements and initiatives, and act in a safe manner befitting the safety requirements and cultureRegularly report on the Contractor's safety performance and site observationsAssist in the planning and delivery of Inland Rail projects in accordance with ARTC & IRPL standards on time and within budget allocationsManage the resolution of site related construction and engineering issues as they relate to compliance and contract performance including reporting on scope deviations and assessing actual variation impactsLiaise with stakeholders (internal/external) on various contractual, technical and delivery mattersContribute to the development and implementation of detailed Project Management PlansProvide quantitative and qualitative reports regarding the status and performance of components of the Inland Rail projects including preparing various technical and evaluation reports (project performance, technical evaluations, etc.
)Assist the Project Manager in monitoring and evaluating the performance of nominated Inland Rail projects against KPI'sAssist in the preparation of contract documentation and submissions to gain approvalsAssist in the administration of contracts (assessment of payment claims, variations, etc.
)Assist in managing financial forecasting and reports on allocated projectsUndertake site inspections and liaising with consultants and engineersUndertake, from time to time, any other tasks as may be required from the A2P Enhancements leadership teamAccountabilities Ensure detailed project programs and plans are provided on a regular basis to Project Director / Senior Project ManagerProvide reports to the Project Director / Senior Project Manager about resources, plant and equipment requirements for components of the nominated Inland Rail projects to facilitate resourcing according to project management plans.Ensure that safety policies and procedures are complied with.Ensure fair and equitable workplace practices and behaviours are complied with, creating a discrimination free workplace in accordance with legislative requirements.Ensure compliance with ARTC's Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.Promote a safety culture within the team to conform with current Work Health and Safety (WH&S) and relevant Rail Safety legislation.Ensure that injuries are properly reported, and that any injured employees are provided both a safe and timely return to workAbout you To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualifications.Eligibility for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.Eligible for ARTC Major Construction Verification or Supervisor competency.Demonstrated experience in engineering maintenance, construction or project management of track, civil, structures and/or signalling.Knowledge of or an awareness of work health and safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.Experience in the administration, management and delivery of major infrastructure projects.Demonstrable ability to work in an organised, well ordered manner.Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills.Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated commercial acumen.Driver's Licence - Class CProject experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.Sound knowledge of Railway systems.Australian Standards for track infrastructure including the railway National Code of Practice.What you'll be joining You will join one of the largest infrastructure programs in Australia.This project will generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in local investment, boosting regional economies and communities right along the alignment.Inland Rail is proud to have over 40% female representation and we would like to see these numbers grow.Inland Rail is an Agile working environment in our State-of-the Art office embracing flexible working conditions.Inland Rail adopted a collaborative approach to the delivery of the project, leading all parties involved to work toward the same goal.
