Job description: Purpose of the Role: To provide planning, engineering, and/or site construction support for projects. The role will also provide technical advice to support the successful delivery of the Snowy 2.0 project. Responsible for the technical matters associated with the construction and delivery of construction works ensuring that the best project outcome is achieved by coordinating with other departments.
Qualifications: Recognised tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (Engineering - Civil)White CardDriver's LicenseExperience: Minimum 8 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role - preferredExperience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projectsAdvanced Microsoft Office experienceExcellent knowledge of design and visualisation software such as AutoCADRequired Competencies: Competence in interpreting and explaining technical schedules and documentationFamiliarity with Australian codes and standardsExceptional contract comprehensionSound negotiation and problem-solving skillsStrong initiative and proactive natureKey collaborative skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsWell-developed time management skillsHigh attention to detailSound understanding of civil and structural technical engineeringCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projectsMonitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specificationsInteract daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the fieldPerform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project statusAssign responsibilities and mentor project teamCooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical supportReview engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actionsPreparation and coordination of personnel, equipment and materials to ensure effective mobilization to the siteParticipate in the procurement process as requiredUndertake the preparation of variations including taking off quantities and pricingCoordinate and ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community and environmental related deliverables and documentationProduce any related studies or documentation and method statements as requiredMonitor, document and report physical progress against schedule and any delays/interference which may have affected progressLiaise with client representatives, Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers and Site Supervision in relation to permits to work, JHA's ITP, and any other requirements to enable the timely completion of the workEnsure that all systems procedures, statutory requirements, engineering standards and sound construction practices are complied with at all timesEnsure all day works, variations and other claims are accurately recorded and reported and liaise with contract administration to ensure all financial entitlements of the company are protectedActively pursue any gaps in engineering information that may leave the company exposed, or alternatively propose and agree through the proper channels a solution to the problemAssist, coach and mentor Site Engineers as required or appropriateThe above listed authorities & responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
