Are you up for the challenge? John Holland as part of a JV has recently been awarded a major works contract for the delivery of Light Rail Stage 2 A - City to Commonwealth Park in Canberra ACT over the next 4 years.
The project will see three new stops built at Edinburgh Avenue, City South and Commonwealth Avenue, extending the network by 1.7 kilometres.
As we work through the planning stages, most roles will be based in Sydney to commence and then transition to be Canberra based, with relocations preferred (if not already Canberra based) in the second half of 2024.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join the team and play a key role in delivering Canberra Light Rail Stage 2 A.
In particular we'd like to hear from you if your experience covers: Civil works - Roads, Pavements, drainage, temporary works and landscaping.

Track works - installation, coordination and interface management CSR - installation, coordination and interface management Signalling - system knowledge, installation, test and commissioning Responsibilities of the role include: Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers.
Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin.
Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements.
¬ Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
Direct site surveys and preparatory work prior to construction.
¬ Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work.
Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors of Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
Demonstrated 10+ years site-based experience with a Tier 1/2 head contractor in Australia.
