About the role This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering Operations at TRITIUM Power Solutions and is based at Murarrie, Brisbane.
The Senior Project Engineer leads the development and delivery of key engineering solutions that allow Tritium to further grow as a market leader.
Projects range from New Technology Integration, Product Modernisation to Design To Cost and VAVE activities.
The role requires experience in managing engineering activities across requirements definition, design, development and verification of prototypes and leading the release into global production sites and field service center.
Lead Engineering projects that contribute significantly to product performance enhancements, product cost optimization and/or increased product modularity to meet a wide range of market demandsCollect and define project and product requirements.
Conduct FMEAs and establish DVP&Rs.
Ensure robust and reliable technology is used by developing extensive knowledge about industry best practices across all types of component technology.Ensure DFM/DFA principles are applied during Development and Release processes.Liaise with internal Engineering departments and Subject matter experts to understand product characteristics and opportunities for optimization.Liaise extensively with suppliers, supply chain and production to deliver solutions that meet process capabilities, productivity KPIs and highest quality standards.Define and communicate development strategies, project resourcing and budget plans.Assign tasks to project contributing Engineers and technicians.
Follow through daily to ensure timely completion.Ensure engineering projects are fully documented, design and development activities are peer reviewed, risks are identified and mitigated, and blockers removed.
Involve relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes.Ensure that impacts and outcomes are reviewed and approved through Change Management and Notification processes.Ensure all deliverables are released in time to all relevant stakeholders.Collaborate with Project Managers if projects exceed in complexity and budget.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to electric vehicle charging systems.Ensure that all designs meet applicable safety standards and are compliant with relevant codes and regulations.Adhere to the Tritium WHS policy and procedures.About You Masters degree or Bachelors degree in System, Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical engineering or in a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an Engineering role with responsibility for Product Development that combined the development of electronics, firmware & software and hardware.Broad technical knowledge in areas of Electronic/Electrical products for Industrial/Consumer/Automotive/Medical markets.Demonstrates knowledge and experience in Engineering for Mass Manufacturing.
Understands process capabilities and uses them as requirements and project targets to be met.Experience with Supplier Integration.Able to collaborate with suppliers in development projects.Demonstrated hands-on experience with conceptual design, prototyping and validating, while also delegating tasks and following up on delivery commitments.Experience in the application of Design for Assembly / Design for Manufacturing principles.Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product design principles.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards, ideally for electric vehicle charging systems such as SAE J1772 and UL 2202.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experienced in Lean / Lean Six Sigma frameworks, tools, and principles (Desirable).Proven accuracy and attention to detail.Enthusiasm and highly motivated.Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.On occasion the ability to travel where required to facilitate the outcomes required in this position.What's on offer Our people are our most important asset.
