About the roleThe Senior Project Engineer (AWP Priority) – Structures, Civil & Facilities is responsible for executing high-priority projects within the Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Program.
This role involves planning, developing, and managing infrastructure projects related to structures, civil works, and facilities.
You will ensure compliance with internal and external standards, maintain a safe work environment, and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key accountabilities include:Lead engineering and project management to ensure successful project identification, planning, and execution.Engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.Conduct thorough analysis and comparison of project options to determine the best solutions.Oversee site investigations and technical assessments to ensure accurate and timely project development.Ensure all design works align with V/Line's Design Management Process and safety standards.Coordinate Safety in Design (SiD) workshops and manage identified risks effectively.Manage the procurement of materials and coordinate their delivery to project sites.Provide detailed project status reports and assist in financial forecasting to ensure transparency and accountability.Ensure compliance with Safety Management of Change (MoC) requirements and obtain necessary project approvals.Work closely with Asset Planning Engineers and participate in lessons learned workshops to continuously improve project outcomes.About youThe successful candidate is a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong background in managing complex infrastructure projects.
You will possess excellent project management and technical skills, with a proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
You are adept at ensuring compliance with safety and design standards and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment and delivering high-quality project outcomes.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:5+ years in a cross-functional, complex matrix environment.Proven experience in railway structural design, maintenance, and renewal.Experience in the design and delivery of large-scale transport infrastructure projects.Strong project and program management skills.Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration abilities.Proficiency in technical assessments and site investigations.Ability to ensure compliance with safety and design standards.Precision and thoroughness in project planning and execution.Effective leadership and conflict resolution skills.Flexibility and innovative thinking in dynamic project environments.Strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes.Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.QualificationTertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably civil / structural.
