We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our established Gas Services team in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
You will be working in a team of friendly and like-minded people overseeing the financial status of all Siemens Energy Gas Service projects in the Australian and New Zealand region. Together with Project Managers (tech.) You will deliver those projects within the schedule and budget. This includes all activities from project set up (contract award) to practical completion (start of warranty phase).
Together with your Project manager you will be managing projects of different volume and complexity (CCM / POC revenue recognition). The project volume ranges from small service orders >250k to major service outages & upgrade projects (up to ~15mil) up to Long Term Service Agreements (+50mil) for Australia's leading power generation companies.
This role will report to the Head of Finance Pacific sub-region with a very close collaboration to the local finance team, Project Managers as well as Procurement.
How You'll Make an Impact Set up projects in the project finance system (SAP) and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial data throughout the project lifecycle upon completion.Monitor project budgets to ensure all expenditures are within the allowance.Regular costs to complete forecasting (mainly) using the POC (percentage of completion method) with input from Project Managers and monitor monthly. Raise uncertainties as soon as foreseen and take appropriate actions.Project cashflow forecasting of inflows and outflows monthly and oversees project currency risks and tax issues.Facilitate monthly project cost reviews including analysis of key variances to budget.Assisting the Project Manager in administering and monitoring of the project risk and opportunity register and take required actions, if necessary.Prepare payment claims and raise each claim in accordance with the contract requirements (fixed milestones or schedule of rates)Supports Project Manager with raising of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.support the tender manager by providing input to negotiations on commercial issues based on lessons learned of the current projects.provide support on claim management, back-charges and insurance cases and monitors the proper follow up together with the Project Manager and legal team.Actively communicates with customers and suppliers' commercial representatives and manages solving of commercial issues.Ensuring project execution is in line with processes and guidelines (local GAAP, IFRS, FRG etc)Ad hoc support on other commercial project topics as required.What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting or other Project Accounting / Project Management related fieldsMinimum 3-5 years' experience in financial controlling and administration of complex projectsGood understanding of project management principalsAbility to work under pressure and adhere to project timelines.Structured approach to problem solving.SAP experience or any other large EPR systemAdvanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and WordFull working rights in AustraliaWho is Siemens Energy?
