About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join our Finance team based in Williamtown, NSW or Edinburgh Parks, SA.
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will support the Accounting Manager in business partnering to maintain the financial functions within the project to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include: Preparation and review of monthly project reporting, including Contract Status Reviews (CSR's), Business Unit Reviews (BUR's), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's), Project Status Report (PSR's), Project Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows, Work in Progress (WIP) management, cost and revenue accruals, and Monthly Management Review (MMR) reportingPreparation and review of variance reporting versus prior forecasts and budgetsPreparation and review of project reconciliationsImprove processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the ProjectBusiness partnering with stakeholders to co-ordinate finance inputs into the monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) processOversee Foreign Exposure (FX) management and hedging to minimise FX exposureOperate, maintain and improve budgeting and forecasting processes for the projectReview Weekly Cash Flow forecastsOversee project billingEnsure compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislationProvide assistance to Finance Manager and Accounting Managers as requiredInput into project risk management processes including maintenance of finance-related risks in the risk registerAssist in the improvement of financial and project-related processes to achieve accurate, timely and efficient reporting to support informed decision-makingCo-ordinate and lead in the preparation and review of the project annual budgets, 5 year IBP, and monthly re-forecastAbout YOU Completed CPA Australia or CADemonstrated experience in a finance-related roleThe ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and members of the broader finance teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience in a large project environment (desirable)We believe in hiring for potential.
