Senior Program Officer (Risk) and Senior Risk AnalystAbout the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019.
We work to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system.
As the single independent regulator of Australian Government aged care services, we offer a variety of interesting and challenging jobs across most capital cities.
It is an exciting time to join the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, with major reforms underway to improve aged care in Australia.
You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.
Sector Performance and Improvement The Sector Performance and Improvement section oversees a range of programs to help prevent, identify, and respond to sector level risks to people who receive aged care.
This includes improving transparency of aged care sector performance information, producing reports that provide insight to risks or better practice to the aged care sector, implementing risk treatment programs, and developing, implementing, and evaluating agreed risk treatments.
About the roles We have opportunities within our team for an APS6 Senior Program Officer (Risk) and APS6 Senior Risk Analyst.
Position Duties Senior Program Officer (Risk)
Work with the Assistant Director – Risk Treatment Manager in designing and delivering projects to reduce risk of harms in aged care.Improve and support the capability of aged care providers.Help consumers understand and exercise their rights and expectations with respect to their care provider.Build and maintain engagement with internal and external stakeholders.Provide secretariat support to working groups and committees, including coordinating and scheduling meetings, preparation of agendas, drafting of minutes, capturing and progressing action items related to project aims and objectives.Use and maintain systems and processes to track and report, including using the Commission's project management tool to support delivery of campaign objectives.Assist with the management of critical and sensitive issues to deliver consistent strategic and quality messaging related to project aims and objectives, and in line with current policies.Identify and respond appropriately to risk, including escalation of risks to supervisor and section Director as required.Contribute to program evaluation, continuous improvement, and innovation.Work constructively as a member of a team, including sharing of information to build the capacity of other staff to undertake their roles.Adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct.Work with business areas to collate best practice guidance and research which may inform or impact risk management within the internal and external operating environment.Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the Commission's sector risk documentation through risk identification, corroboration, trend analysis, and data reporting.Develop risk briefs for Executive consideration, outlining the identification, assessment, and proposed treatment options for sector risks.Provide secretariat support for the Commission's Sector Risk Committee, including support for meetings, preparation of agenda and briefing papers, and drafting of minutes and correspondence.Support the Assistant Director to develop strategic work plans, processes, and structures necessary to support the delivery of program aims and objectives.Work constructively as a team member to support the day-to-day functioning of the team, including training and capacity building of new staff.Support the Assistant Director in other related tasks as required.Position Notes: Salary offered will be between APS6 - $92,970 - $104,883 per annum depending on skills and experience.
In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term, with opportunities for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.Merit Pool established through this selection process may be used to fill this or future ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies.Applications close on Monday 11 November at 11.30pm (AEST).
