Senior Program Manager, AWS Australia & New Zealand Public SectorAWS's Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Public Sector business is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager to help drive large and complex programs that are transforming the mission capabilities of our ANZ public sector customers.
This role will require the right candidate to use judgment, negotiation skills, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, deliver program roadmaps and strategies, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. The candidate will have a proven track record of complex program and project delivery, from conception and design through to implementation, measurement, closure, handover, and monitoring. The candidate is able to manage multiple, cross-functional competing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and agility are encouraged. The ideal candidate sees around corners, is adept at eliminating complexity, is biased for action in ensuring the project/program is set up for success in achieving our goals, has experience making the right tradeoffs, and earns trust through broad stakeholder influence.
Key job responsibilities: Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment across varied programs and in sensitive contextsEstablish, optimize, and retire mechanisms and processes to improve conditions for program successEstablish new norms on various aspects of the program and build alignment across teamsDrive projects for their entire lifecycle from planning through post-launch measurementOwn reporting of critical operations-related metrics to business stakeholdersRely heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverablesLiaise with other Amazon teams to ensure relevant areas are engaged and aligned to support program deliverablesBuild effective relationships with multiple internal and external, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex projectsThe ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, across all teams and levels of seniority within Amazon (e.g., technical, business, executive)Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomesDevelop, improve, and share operational best practices across the region and with peers globallyMentor, train, and develop career progression for indirect reports and members of the organization (Program Managers)Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability)
Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of program or project management experience7+ years of defining and executing against program timeline & requirements experienceExperience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedulesBachelor's degreeKnowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)Experience working in a matrixed organizationExperience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardizationAcknowledgement of country:
