To ensure a high level of community safety through managing the assessment and treatment of offenders incarcerated or subject to community-based supervision at dedicated delivery sites. This role also provides advice, recommendations and practice supervision in relation to assessment processes and program delivery at a local level.
Supervise, motivate and encourage the professional practice of staff in the performance of their dutiesFacilitate the training and professional development needs of staff, appraise performance, provide feedback and coach staff to effectively conduct their duties.Maintain high level knowledge of contemporary management practices, legislation, policies and procedures relevant to managing staff.Contribute to the knowledge base of the teamEnsure all programs are delivered in accordance with Accountability Standards and are supervised by an appropriately experienced and qualified Supervisor.Undertake supervision across relevant program areas and support and monitor the provision of peer supervision where relevant.Coordinate offender program activities and work with regional management to ensure the appropriate allocation of workload.Implement program delivery schedules in collaboration with ORMS that ensure performance targets are met.Ensure maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of records and intervention reports for appropriate authoritiesEnsure officers' compliance with legislation and Agency procedures for the management of prisoners /Monitor and audit offender program practices and records to ensure quality, continuity and consistencyEnsure records and data for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMs) are accurate and currentEnsure the security of files and appropriate access to the files by relevant staff and approved external agenciesIdentify and respond appropriately to risks related to effective and efficient program deliveryEngage with and promote the value of offender programs through effective collaboration with internal and external professional networksEnsure high quality specialised assessment and intervention reports through established review processesEnsure the timely provision of advice and / or reports to courts, boards and other agencies regarding prisoners' participation in programs and or relevant prisoner concernsEnsure all staff have completed the mandatory training for relevant programsMaintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practicesDeliver general and / sexual offending programs in accordance with endorsed program schedulesMaintain own level of knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures in relation to prisoner managementProvide advice to the relevant Manager regarding any emerging risks to program deliveryProvide high level engagement with the Offender Intevention Unit and the Rehabilitation Strategy Unit (ORMS) to ensure program governance and efficacy is maintained.Engage with relevant community agencies and support servicePromote value of the program services to custodial / community stakeholdersEnsure the timely provision of reports to courts and boards on relevant offender issues.Promote options for evidence-based offender programs activities with relevant agenciesBuild partnerships with relevant service providers and stakeholders and collaborate with community agencies to develop and deliver offender programs initiativesApplications to remain current for 12 months.
