That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.What you'd be doing in this roleAs a Senior Privacy Product Manager, you will have well-developed skills in considering different frameworks, then applying them into product development of services which helps us meet and exceed the expectations of our users. This means that you will have to have a good analytical lens to complement collaboration with numerous internal partner teams and work streams, in order to achieve impact through their adoption of your solutions.You will also have to be good at balancing multiple perspectives to pinpoint challenges and solutions: internal operations that require data to function, as well as bad actors who would manipulate legitimate uses of data for personal gain.At the moment, this role is focused on:Co-own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for user privacy at Canva, working closely with privacy and product legalBe the Product Manager for the team of privacy engineers who build our services and tooling platform for data privacy across Canva, collaborating with privacy legal on compliance projectsCollaborate on compliance proposals, regulator responses, and decision documentsIdentify requirements and constraints to deliver on privacy projects, collaborating with cross-functional teamsSupport roadmap planning and prioritisation and alignment between different groupsPlan out adoption timelines with buy-in from internal teamsEnsure timely delivery by staying ahead of potential risksExplore all aspects of data privacy functionality from every stakeholder's perspectiveSupport handling privacy incidents & assessing Canva product safety risksEnsure Canva's values and policies are consistently applied in the way we take action in preserving privacyBuild a deep understanding of the current data protection mechanisms across CanvaBe an escalation point for all incidents, and investigationsCollaborate with other data management, governance and security teamsDevelop thinking and analysis of data privacy management through multiple lensesCommunicate team achievements for visibility and understanding of the risks and impact we haveYou will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and take ownership of deliverables and outcomes.You're probably a match ifYou have proven experience in data privacy, dealing with consent, data sharing, data subject access requires and similar activities.Alternatively, a background in data governance, compliance, ethics, identity, or other related risks like cybersecurity may transfer well.Can speak the language of engineering, legal, data, design, operations and can coordinate cross-functionally.An innovator willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the weeds.Ability to proactively unblock others by looking ahead.Highly collaborative and effective with the ability to lead by example.Skilled in balancing long-term vision and strategy with timely delivery.Data driven, but comfortable moving forward even if we don't have all the information available.About the teamThe Privacy Engineering Team goal is to make Canva the world's most trusted company by building the tools and systems to ensure our users are informed and in control of how their data is used.What's in it for you?Equity packagesInclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carersAn annual Vibe & Thrive allowanceFlexible leave optionsCheck out lifeatcanva.com for more info.Other stuff to knowWe make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Canva and our culture.
