Role Summary: This role is responsible for helping to execute the strategy of the Asset Servicing organization with a focus on regulatory reporting solutions for Australian and New Zealand clients.
As a Product Manager for Regulatory Solutions, you will lead the development and enhancement of reporting solutions across multiple client segments including those managing APRA and ASIC regulated investment vehicles.
You will collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, relationship management, compliance, risk, legal, and regulatory bodies, to ensure our products meet the ever-evolving requirements of the industries in which our clients operate.
Your expertise in regulatory frameworks, combined with a strong understanding of superannuation fund operations, will be key to shaping our product roadmap and delivering solutions that ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, and other relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define target markets, customers, competitive strengths, and competition strategy.
Position products relative to the competitive environment and identify what will differentiate or distinguish these products in the marketplace.
Conduct feasibility analysis for new product development and obtain management approval.
Lead the development of strategic business cases that tie market research to company vision.
Define and manage the product roadmap for regulatory reporting solutions.Market & Regulatory Analysis: Stay up to date with the latest regulatory changes from ASIC, APRA, and other relevant authorities impacting reporting requirements.
Analyse market trends and regulatory needs to identify product opportunities.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure our solutions are aligned with industry standards and expectations.Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through to launch, including defining product specifications, overseeing design and development, and coordinating cross-functional teams.Risk Management: Coordinate product risk review as part of the new product development and expansions processes, proactively identify all areas of risk including financial, reputation, regulatory and financial and make recommendations to minimize these.Client and Partner-Centric Focus: Engage with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and pain points.
Use feedback to refine and enhance product features, ensuring the product delivers value and compliance certainty.
Cultivate and manage relationships with strategic clients, prospects and third parties.Regulatory Reporting Expertise: Develop deep expertise in regulatory reporting for superannuation and fund managers, including but not limited to the requirements of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act, Corporations Act, and ASIC reporting obligations.Training & Documentation: Collaborate with the internal business partners to develop training materials, product documentation, and go-to-market strategies.Performance Monitoring: Take responsibility for improving product quality, track customer satisfaction, evaluate metrics and KPIs, gauge channel performance, conduct post product launch audits.Additional Product Management Responsibilities: Attend industry events and publish industry thought leadership, provide sales support through RFP response including presenting at client and prospect meetings, monitor capital and expenses, make investment portfolio recommendations.
Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.Skills Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on regulatory solutions or financial services.In-depth knowledge of Australian superannuation funds and ASIC-regulated fund management.Strong understanding of the regulatory reporting landscape, including APRA, ASIC, and AUSTRAC requirements.Experience working with agile development methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute methodically.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.Good in building key relationships, influencing and negotiating with clients, partners and leaders across multiple disciplines.Program or project management experience is advantageous, planning, analysis, design and governance.Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment.Preferred Skills: Experience with regulatory technology (RegTech) platforms or compliance software.Familiarity with financial data reporting standards, including XBRL, or other reporting protocols.Knowledge of data management and reporting tools, such as Power BI, SQL, or other relevant platforms.Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
