Main Purpose:The Senior Product Engineer is primarily accountable for:Driving the implementation and acceptance of Puma next generation sustainable bitumen technology in Australia.Liaising with key customers to enhance Puma Bitumen Product offering to support and further develop key commercial relationships.Leveraging technical expertise to enhance Puma Bitumen product offering to deliver commercial success to the business.Assessing the performance of bituminous products with customers in the field and identifying product improvements.Attendance / representation and presentation at industry meetings.Develop technical product information and datasheets.Provide technical support to the sales team and develop marketing campaigns.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:As a worker; Workplace Health & SafetyEach person is at first responsible for their own safety and to prevent accidents.Take reasonable care and personal responsibility for your own health and safety.Take reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.Comply, so far as you are reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction and training that is given.Follow all procedures and observe critical safety practices at all times.Co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure relating to health, safety or environment at the workplace that has been notified to you.Know and fulfil the Safety Policy.Immediately report all injuries in the workplace to your supervisor.Inspect your workplaces to look for potential hazards.Report all hazards to your immediate supervisor.Ensure vigilance and awareness of your workplace to ensure that any hazards, incidents, accidents or near-hits are reported to your supervisor.Attend and actively participate in consultative arrangements such as toolbox talks and risk assessments.Use machinery and equipment (including personal protective equipment-PPE) only in accordance with the procedures and training provided to you.Be familiar with evacuation and emergency procedures and the location of first aid and fire equipment.Ensure your activities do not cause, or are not likely to cause, environmental harm.Minimise waste; separate reusable and recyclable materials from the general waste stream, use bins provided.Clean up spills appropriately and notify your Supervisor.Quality Management System ComplianceComply and support the Quality Management system in all aspects of your role.Adopt and implement the principles of continuous improvement in all aspects of your role.Ensure the awareness of customer requirements (internal & external) are promoted throughout the business.Review, monitor and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the quality management system.Engage, support and continuously improve communication processes that support the quality management system and provide positive outcomes for the business, customers and key stakeholders.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Driving the implementation and acceptance of Puma next generation sustainable bitumen technology in Australia at an increasing levels of independence.Providing input into the Puma Energy R&D program aimed at developing more sustainable, durable and low carbon emission bituminous binder solutions.Assessing the performance of bituminous products with customers in the field and identifying product improvements.Customer engagement and support, including liaising with key customers to enhance Puma Bitumen Product offering to support and further develop key commercial relationships.Developing technical product information.Representing Puma at industry meetings and providing technical input to specification development.Provide technical support to the sales team and develop marketing campaigns.Building/maintaining reputation as a leading bitumen technology expert.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies:Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering essential.Chartered Professional Engineer / Scientist status highly regarded.Minimum 5yrs experience in bitumen/asphalt industry.Understanding of Austroads and state road agency pavement, asphalt and sprayed seal design procedures.Able to communicate effectively, the successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills.Team and Customer focus.Understanding and experience in planning, communication and key project management.Proven track record of delivering commercial projects and customer interfacing.Key Relationships and Department Overview:Internal: Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technical (other areas)External: Customers, Service Providers, Industry contacts
