Your Responsibilities:

Enhance our visual design capabilities and champion the creation of best-in-class products, setting a high standard for design excellence.
Work closely with product designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop streamlined processes that enable the creation of world-class user experiences.
Design, maintain, and evolve the components, UI patterns, and documentation for Pet Circle's Design System, ensuring consistency, scalability, and ease of use.
Develop comprehensive documentation that empowers designers and engineers to implement components and patterns effectively across design and code.
Gain a deep understanding of our business context and customers to inform product design decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.
Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure alignment between visual elements, tone of voice, and best practice user experience principles.
Uphold Pet Circle's high standards for design and product quality, consistently delivering exceptional outcomes.

About You:

5+ years experience as a UI/Visual Designer or Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful design work.
Hands-on experience working in fast-paced startup or growth environments, with the ability to adapt quickly to evolving challenges.
Experienced in creating or contributing to comprehensive Design Systems that ensure consistency and scalability across products.
Experienced in creating engaging illustrations, icons, and animations that bridge brand identity, user experience, and business needs.
Highly skilled in using Figma for design work, with a deep understanding of its collaborative and prototyping capabilities.
Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality user experiences across both web and native mobile platforms.
A seasoned designer with the ability to guide stakeholders through your design thinking process, confidently justifying your design decisions with clear, strategic reasoning.

Demonstrates a deep appreciation for craft and quality in user experience, including hierarchy, layout, interactions, and design at scale.
Comfortable navigating code at a basic level to ensure design feasibility and collaboration with engineers.
Flexible and capable of working autonomously in a dynamic environment, effectively managing responsibilities across multiple squads.
Possesses a proactive mindset, challenging the status quo to drive customer-centric and measurable outcomes.
Excels at building strong relationships with designers, engineers, and stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor for user-related touchpoints.
Confidently champions the customer in discussions, making informed best practice recommendations and challenging assumptions.
Thrives in ambiguous situations, able to zoom in on details while maintaining a holistic view of the broader context.
Capable of quickly iterating and communicating ideas across various levels of fidelity, and comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
Committed to creating inclusive, accessible products that meet diverse user needs.

Role Location:
At Pet Circle we believe that collaboration and team connection is key for success. This role will be based in Sydney with a blended working arrangement of 3 days per week in our pet friendly offices and the remainder working from home (or the office, if you prefer!) Our working arrangements and your required office day are subject to change in line with business requirements.
