Utilise your Procurement expertise to provide support and advice to the Finance and Procurement branchAn Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceAbout the Business Unit: The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
Procurement and Property Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value for money. It is also responsible for the effective operation and management of asset maintenance, fleet and property, and facilities management services across the department.
About the Role: The role of a Senior Procurement Officer is to:
Support the Procurement Services strategic planning and advisory processes, supporting the development and delivery of key projects and initiatives within the functionsProvide a level of administrative oversight across the Procurement Services functions, coordinating activities that require the Director, Procurement Services' involvementSupport the Director, Procurement Services to deliver on key business priorities.Reporting to the Director, Procurement Services, the Senior Procurement Officer will participate in strategic planning and drive key strategic initiatives within the Procurement Services functions. This includes coordinating a suite of small to medium sized initiatives, providing a level of oversight for a broad range of strategic business priorities, undertaking regular reporting, implementing governance processes, and creating project documentation, briefs, and correspondence.
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires a capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key staff across Procurement and Property Services and the broader department, using influence and negotiation skills to support the delivery of timely work products.

Legislative, regulation and policy context awareness: A strong ability to initiate and develop policies, strategies and governance frameworks that comply and are informed by higher legislative requirementsStrategy Planning, development and implementation: A strong ability to work with colleagues to identify methods of implementation, communication of the strategy, and supporting processes that need to be created/modifiedSolutions development: A strong ability to resolve issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines and being able to use own initiative to act independently or with others where guidelines are not available.Qualifications/Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably encompassing procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or business administration is highly desirableExperience / understanding of government procurement and policies is highly desirableHow to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, national police checks and misconduct screening.
