In this leadership position, your expertise will directly impact the success of our procurement function and our ability to deliver world-class infrastructure and services.About the roleReporting to the Head of Procurement, as the Senior Procurement Lead, you'll lead the creation of category strategies, manage major tenders, and oversee the execution of State Purchase Contracts and precinct-wide agreements. This high-impact role will see you working closely with business leaders to align procurement activities with organisational objectives, deliver value for money, and minimise procurement risks.Here are some of the game-changing things you'll have the opportunity to be involved in:Shaping strategic procurement objectivesYou'll work closely with the Head of Procurement to develop and deliver high-impact procurement strategies that drive long-term value for M&OP, optimising spend and reducing risk across key categories.Leading the development of category strategiesWith a primary focus on Capital Works Construction and Infrastructure services, you'll develop and implement targeted strategies for 'Focused' and 'Leveraged' spend areas, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.Driving major procurement activitiesYou'll take charge of tendering processes, contract negotiations, and other major procurement initiatives, ensuring that we secure the best commercial outcomes while maintaining compliance with procurement regulations.Data-driven category management & reportingYou'll lead the development of category planning, leveraging data analytics and stakeholder engagement to create actionable insights, and manage the reporting of M&OP's Procurement Plan to track progress and optimize performance.What you will bring to the role:Extensive experience in strategic procurement, with a focus on capital works, construction, or infrastructureExpertise in contract negotiation, including the AS Suite of construction contractsStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders and driving cross-functional collaborationExpertise in procurement compliance, risk management, and leveraging data to inform decision-makingExperience in developing and executing category strategies to optimise spend and reduce risksTertiary qualifications in business, construction, infrastructure services, project management, or related fieldIf you have any additional queries about the role, please contact Molley Qi or Tessa Weerasooriya.Please note, applications close on Wednesday, 27th November.A bit about usMelbourne & Olympic Park is an iconic, multi-venue precinct with few parallels globally.
