The successful candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the DPS office locations in Canberra.Merit List or PoolApplicants suitable for the role but not offered the position for the current vacancy may be placed in a merit list or pool. If the applicant agrees, the results may be shared with other Australian Public Service (APS) agencies for filling similar roles. Applicants may be offered a future role without the need to reapply. A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months.This merit list or pool may be used to fill other vacancies in Canberra.Position OverviewThe Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Senior Procurement and Contract Officer within the Planning and Quality Branch. We are seeking Procurement professionals to provide high-level advice on procurement and contract management related matters across DPS.The suitable candidates will be required to conduct complex procurements using best practices and judgment to make decisions on procurement and related activities that are fundamental to the day-to-day operations of DPS, prepare and review a range of written material including reports, contracts, procurement documentation, Senate Estimates briefs, questions on notice, and executive briefings, and deliver procurement and contract management training to build capability and capacity, whilst providing leadership and mentoring to staff within the procurement team.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience, in conducting procurement and contract management. They will possess high-level administration skills and the ability to oversee the development of contemporary procurement and contract management processes, as well as proven ability to communicate with influence and nurture productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Demonstrate broad procurement and contract management skills.Demonstrate high-level administration and organisational skills.Demonstrate the ability to understand and contribute to the strategic objectives of the department.Have the ability to communicate with influence and nurture productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Adhere to Parliamentary Services Values and the code of conduct and consistently behave in an honest, ethical, and professional way.Key DutiesCertificate IV in Procurement and Contracting (or higher) or ability to attain is essential.Experience in any of the following is highly desirable: administration, governance, or finance.The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.NotesAt DPS, we acknowledge the value diversity brings.
