We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to work as a Process lead on challenging and complex water and wastewater projects across the entire lifecycle including planning, options development, tendering, design, construction, and commissioning. You will work with our Commissioning Manager in commissioning treatment processes for our clients such as Sydney Water. The role will be permanent full-time role and will be site based during the project delivery; and in the Sydney Office when the project commissioning activities are finishing. This key role will be integrated with our diverse close-knit collaborative skilled team on site; and will interface regularly with internal and external stakeholders including our designers and our clients.
Key Responsibilities Participate in design reviews and workshops to ensure all process and commissioning related requirements are included in the design of various water/wastewater processes for liquids, solids, and odour streams. Expedite the Process related engineering deliverables from Designers. Review and provide feedback for cost-effective improvements focusing on innovation, circular economy, and carbon neutrality. Verify and validate overall designs, process guarantee requirements, control philosophies, and identify risks and opportunities in commissioning and hand over. Conduct reviews and provide inputs on key packages and offerings from technology providers to ensure that the process guarantees remain back-to-back. Compile and compose commissioning documentation to ensure plant handover occurs smoothly in a timely manner. Provide support to programmers (e.g. SMART) to ensure safe commissioning and plant operation under various scenarios. Participate in FAT of equipment and control system for quality assurances on processes and controls. Planning and implementation of pre-requisite tasks and documentation. Assisting in commissioning activities including Dry, Wet, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, SAT, Operational readiness, process proving. Performance optimisation for treatment quality improvement, power, and chemical consumptions. Operator Training, handing over the plant and supporting decommissioning and safe disposal of unused assets as required. Team player in planning and managing quality, time, and budget for commissioning activities and documentation. Prepare and maintain necessary correspondence, documentation and technical reports, papers. Support and knowledge sharing to a wide range of internal and external customers with a range of technical backgrounds. Engineering support to assist Pre-contract team with designs, bids, and tender submissions. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:
Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent qualification. At least 8 years' experience in process engineering, construction, and commissioning of Water and Wastewater plants. Knowledge of HSE and statutory requirements. Subject matter expert of various treatment processes and infrastructures. Attention to detail, creative, accountable, responsible with can-do attitude. Strong communicator with effective writing skills to solve project specific techno-commercial issues in a timely manner. Experience of HMI and SCADA interfaces will be beneficial.
