Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) Full time Role Overview
Leading Investment Management firm is seeking a Privacy professional to lead the Privacy function in this hands-on 2nd Line role. This role oversees the businesses data privacy practices in Australia and other international locations, ensuring adherence to all relevant data privacy laws, regulations, and policies. You will drive the agenda, ensuring compliance with regulatory changes, and collaborating with the first line business to enhance their processes.
Key Responsibilities Oversee and direct the Privacy Compliance division. Build & refine frameworks, programs, controls, and systems to ensure data privacy duties locally and internationally are met.Detect regulatory risks related to data privacy stemming from companies global operations.Engage with privacy regulators and both domestic and international legal advisors concerning data privacy matters.Stay informed about regulations affecting data privacy and offer training and guidance to the business to keep them updated on important issues.Offer proactive and reliable guidance to internal stakeholders within Australian and overseas offices to ensure a clear understanding and management of regulatory and compliance risks.Promote a work environment of strong collaboration, innovation, and excellence in execution.Manage multiple, often conflicting, priorities.Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Commerce or related field.Minimum 6 years Privacy experience, all industries considered.Comprehensive knowledge of international privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards.Awareness of both current and upcoming regulations, risk management frameworks, and other technical concepts pertinent to privacy.Ability to convert complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical and easily comprehensible business processes.Ideally knowledge of international compliance regulations and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide training.Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering customer-focused solutions.Benefits Brisbane preferred.
