The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.
Let's speak about the team: Working with the Head of Privacy Assurance, the Senior Privacy Specialist will serve as a key member of the Privacy Assurance team and support ResMed's mission to improve the quality of life of our patients, customers, and partners.
Working from our Beijing or Sydney office (and/or remote hybrid working arrangement), you will be primarily supporting ResMed's compliance with global privacy requirements, including as they relate to ResMed's public-facing obligations. You will be expected to be within commuting distance of one of our corporate offices (Sydney or Beijing).
Let's Talk About the role: Point of contact for global data subject requests, including coordinating and streamlining divergent processes for multiple business lines primarily in the APAC region, with additional support for the Americas and EMEA.Handle initial intake from multiple channels and assist with responses to inquiries from regulators, customers and patients, team members, customer support, and other partners.Assist with global privacy governance projects, including privacy laws from the APAC region, including Australia, China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and India.Track and support privacy's data incident response activities and collaborate with various stakeholders, including the cybersecurity response team.Assist implementation and periodic reviews of policies, notices, and practices to facilitate compliance with ResMed's global privacy obligations.Research, monitor and summarize changes in privacy laws and regulations and understand their potential implications on a global healthcare and technology company.Prepare resources to support privacy compliance including FAQs and other informational materials; conduct privacy-related training and addressing questions on privacy compliance with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.Let's Talk About you: You have experience working as part of a global privacy team at a multinational company. You are able to organize and support the implementation of a complex set of privacy requirements across business lines and jurisdictions. You have good stamina and thrive in fast-paced, innovative, diverse work environments. You have experience in project management and/or coordinating and driving cross-functional projects in high-pressure situations. You have a product mindset and experience working in a high-growth environment.
At least seven years of professional experience, with three plus years of relevant privacy experience, including at a law firm, consultancy and/or in-house, preferably at a multinational company in the medical device industry and/or technology and SaaS sector.Bachelor's degree, law or business studies preferred.English language proficiency. Very good knowledge of Mandarin or other language spoken in East Asia is considered a big plus.Knowledge and experience in global privacy laws and data protection frameworks.Customer service focused with excellent analytical and problem resolution skills. Solution-oriented with the ability to think ahead and give practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks.One or more certifications from recognized institutions; for example, IAPP's CIPP certification or equivalent (with an emphasis on CIPM) is a plus.Familiar with Privacy management and automation tools (e.g. OneTrust) is a plus.Experience working in diverse teams, cultural awareness and willingness to adjust work hours to time zone requirements from time to time.Joining us is more than saying "yes" to making the world a healthier place.
