About the Role Are you passionate about privacy and data protection? Do you have the expertise to navigate complex privacy legislation and provide high-quality advice? Join CFA as a Senior Privacy Advisor and play a key role in safeguarding personal information and ensuring compliance across our organisation. As the Senior Privacy Advisor, you will work closely with the FOI Appeals & Privacy Manager to deliver timely and superior privacy advice throughout CFA. This position involves collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to support them understand and comply with CFA's privacy obligations and ensure adherence to relevant legislation. The Senior Privacy Advisor's duties include leading privacy breach management, monitoring emerging privacy risks and providing authoritative advice to stakeholders. Responsibilities also involve providing advice and direction with development of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Threshold Privacy Assessments (TPAs), promoting responsible data handling, maintaining the PIA Register, preparation of statistical reports, conducting privacy audits, handling complaints and reviewing service provider arrangements. Additionally, the advisor will train staff and volunteers on privacy issues, draft and review privacy documentation, liaise with regulators, assess data sharing requests, maintain a Privacy Register, collaborate with the Risk Department and establish a Privacy Representative team to ensure effective privacy management across the organisation. About You Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Relevant experience in similar roles, understanding and applying relevant legislation within a large, complex and diverse organisation. Proven experience implementing relevant procedures, including complaints handling and dispute resolution, with a willingness to learn existing organisational operating environment, policies, strategic objectives, and risk profile. Demonstrated advanced experience in using Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel – including graphs and reporting, PowerPoint, and Teams or demonstrated experience in learning new systems quickly. Including supporting others to problem solve issues with related applications. Demonstrated experience in managing conflicting priorities while ensuring outcomes are achieved, providing well-thought-out and timely responses and demonstrating self-awareness around any known knowledge gaps or weaknesses. Proven experience in developing and managing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience in effectively communicating relevant complex information in clear, plain English to stakeholders who do not have a strong understanding of privacy and related matters.
