Senior–Principal Zoologist/Team Leader

We have an opportunity for a Senior to Principal level Zoologist to join our Biological team, and to lead and grow the emerging Zoology team. Our highly-regarded Biological team includes botanists, zoologists and ecologists who specialise in biological assessments and monitoring.
The role: Lead and grow the emerging, specialist Zoology teamLead and contribute to zoological and ecological projectsProject management and team leadershipIdentifying and pursuing project opportunitiesStudy scoping and designLeading field surveys, including in remote and exciting locationsGIS mapping and related spatial data managementTechnical reporting of biological assessments and monitoring; desktop and field resultsReport technical reviewAid in maintaining and strengthening client relationshipsCollaborate with technical specialists in our Botany and Environmental Assessments and Management teamsPlay a vital role in developing and navigating strategic pathways of the businessAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Bachelor degree (minimum) in zoology, ecology, biological science, environmental science or equivalent5+ years' relevant experience (in flora and vegetation assessments, preferably in Western Australia)demonstrated familiarity with current Technical Guidance for fauna surveysa desire to take on the challenge of shaping an emerging technical team in all aspects, from building the stock of equipment and tools, to recruiting talent and building an enviable client and project basethe ability to lead and manage teams and projectswillingness to travel for field assessments, including to remote locationsexperience in the preparation of, or contributions to technical biological assessment reportsproven experience in managing client relationshipsexcellent verbal and written communication skillsa proactive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional results in a team-focused environmentYou must be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent work visa to be considered for this role.
