Based in Wollongong, you will work on a range of mining, ports and transport infrastructure (bridges, roads, rail) remediation design projects across the country.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity in a highly regarded and established consultancy that values its staff and invests in their professional development
Key Responsibilities Work on ongoing critical projects with a key focus on safety and quality.Work on structural design and load rating projects including analysis of mining/marine/transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork;Act as client contact as appointed for specific projects;Conduct site inspections to identify structural defects and scope upgrades;Mentor a team of junior engineers;Liaise with staff members in our other offices; andOther tasks as allocated by senior staff.Selection Criteria Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, the successful applicant will ideally have:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering;Minimum 10 years of industry experience in mining, marine and transport (bridge, roads, rail);Competent using structural analysis software packages i.e.
SpaceGass, Strand7;Sound knowledge and experience in structural design, analysis, client/stakeholder management and project delivery;Experienced with site inspections and defect identification.Hold or be working towards CPEngHighly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;Open unrestricted drivers licence;Be currently residing in Australia with associated full working rights if applicable;Hold membership with Engineers Australia; andFluent in written and spoken English.Whilst not mandatory, experience with durability and remediation engineering and/or cathodic protection will be advantageous.
