About the Role

As Senior Principal Lawyer - Human Rights, you will:
Be part of a team working on the cutting-edge of this important and emerging area of law.Provide expert legal advice on complex, high-profile human rights matters, including interventions on behalf of the Attorney-General of Queensland under the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld).Provide leadership and management support to team leaders in the daily operations, focusing on mentoring, supervision, collaboration, and capability development.Shape and implement legal strategies in matters arising under the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld).Develop and deliver human rights training programs to internal and external audiences.Support the Assistant Crown Solicitor, deputising when necessary, to ensure seamless operations.This role offers a unique opportunity to advise on the interpretation and application of human rights legislation in Queensland and make a meaningful impact in the public sector.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland (or eligibility for admission).Minimum 8 years post admission including experience in human rights law.Exceptional strategic and advisory skills in legal matters, especially within the public sector.A collaborative, client-focused approach to legal service delivery.Alignment with Crown Law's values of integrity, excellence, respect, and responsibility.Why Join Crown Law Queensland?
