Located at DVConnect Central Office (Brisbane,QLD) This contract position will provide a lead role in helping DVConnect, evolving how it works with men that use violence through project activities.
In collaboration with the Mensline TL and in partnership with the clinical governance and research teams this role will work with men who use violence, as well as provide guidance and support to a specialised team of practitioners. This will include constructive practice mentoring and debriefing, staff performance reviews, and compliance with HSQF standards.
In addition, the Senior Practitioner will encourage reflective practice to support the quality and consistency of the Mensline Counsellors professional risk and safety assessments, and if appropriate, maintain perpetrator accountability.
The Senior Practitioner is also expected to engage in inbound and outreach calls, case management, complete accurate assessments, deliver appropriate responses to manage the caller's safety and maintain all client records and reporting to a high standard.
This role will also provide additional support the broader Mensline team providing similar service delivery and support with operational leadership.
Aditionally, the Senior Practitioner is required to adapt a flexible approach in undertaking quality and training activities such as, but not limited to, supporting the clinical induction and onboarding of new team members, as well as the supporting the skill development of current team members.
Role requirements Tertiary qualification(s) in Psychology or Social Work or other similar qualification(s) or other qualifications and experience/expertise acceptable to DVConnect.Minimum 2 years' experience in the provision of counselling, men's behavioural support and/or crisis support. Knowledge in the area of gender-based violence, specifically with those that use domestic and family violence.Ability to distinguish between individuals who perpetrate violence, those who experience it and effectively respond to such assessments.Experience in supporting a team - desirable. Knowledge and understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012, Domestic Violence Orders and Child Protection Act 1999 (or ability to rapidly acquire).Confident ability to manage competing tasks within agreed timeframes. Effective interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and consultation skills using a range of contemporary practices.Remuneration and Benefits Social Community Home Care Disability Award Level 5 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + superannuation.
