Position Overview:
The DVSCS is a component of Tangentyere's Family Violence Prevention Programs (FVPP).
The FVPP is an integrated program designed to meet the needs of men, women, young people, and children affected by domestic and family violence.

The DVSCS provides specialist early intervention domestic and family violence support for Aboriginal young people, aged between 12 and 18, impacted by domestic and family violence.
Through education, culturally safe and trauma-informed therapeutic supports, case management support, advocacy, and client-led interventions, the DVSCS aims to empower young people to understand the dynamics of domestic and family violence and improve their safety and wellbeing.

The Senior Practitioner will support the DVSCS Case Managers/Group Facilitators through mentoring, debriefing, and formal supervision to develop their skills and ensure all interventions maintain the safety of women and children.
Additionally, the Senior Practitioner will actively plan and facilitate domestic and family violence education-based group sessions for young people and training for external staff to enhance their capacity to respond to domestic and family violence.
The Senior Practitioner will utilize a broad range of evidence-informed practices, theories, and knowledge to guide case analysis, decision-making, and crisis management.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with well-developed conceptual, analytical, and excellent communication skills, committed to working with vulnerable families and children.
They will be adept at tailoring their communication for diverse stakeholders, contributing to program development, continuous quality improvement, and service innovation.
Additionally, they will engage with stakeholders and community members to promote the program, ensuring it is culturally safe and accepted across the Alice Springs region.
