Senior Practitioner Caring Dads

Your role: Caring Dads is an early intervention program developed in Canada by the University of Toronto and Changing Ways, for fathers who have physically abused, emotionally abused or neglected their children, or exposed their children to domestic violence or who are deemed to be at high-risk for these behaviours.
The program consists of a 17-week, empirically-based, manualised group parenting intervention for fathers, systematic outreach to mothers to ensure safety and freedom from coercion, and ongoing, collaborative case management of fathers with existing service providers and other professionals involved with men's families.
Caring Dads combines elements of parenting, fathering, family violence and child protection practice to enhance the safety and well-being of children.
Caring Dads focusses on the relationship with the child.
Make your mark: Build trust with fathers.Help re-write internal dialogue.Help support emotions and behaviours such as denial, deflection and shame.Facilitate group work, weekly in person.Intake and assessment duties that require you to inspire change.Help fathers value their children.Experience and understanding of the Family Violence system.Using Family Violence theoretical frameworks and an advanced understanding of the Child Protection system.Experience in undertaking risk assessments and working with high risk statutory clients.Skills: Safe and Together model training would be highly regarded.CBT.Motivational interviewing.Journey of change.Group facilitation.Role modelling.Make it work: You get a salary starting at around $106,000 plus super.Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.SCHCADS award level 6.Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.Ongoing position.
Part time.
