Senior Power Systems Engineer

THE ROLE Reporting to the Principal Engineer you will ultimately be responsible for the technical performance of all projects undertaken by the team.
You will lead and assist team members in technical decision-making for testing and commissioning projects.
Multiple locations available - Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Tasmania, Brisbane, Mackay, Adelaide, Perth Your responsibilities include however are not limited to the following: Review contract conditions for any prospective projects and pass these on to the Director / Principal Electrical Engineer for further review Ensure team members understand the contract conditions for all testing & commissioning projects and comply with them Allocation of testing & commissioning personnel to projects in conjunction with overall business resource allocation requirements Early identification of future resource shortages or oversupply and advise Principal Electrical Engineer – Power Systems accordingly Monthly update of the resource forecast module for the Testing & Commissioning team Preparation of estimates for testing & commissioning projects.
Drive cost minimisation (both labour and materials) on every testing & commissioning project Lead and/or assist with design activities across the business as required to maximise team utilisation.
Approval of testing & commissioning recommendations made by team members Quality  and Safety Management ABOUT YOU Are you a highly experienced engineer who is self sufficient, capable of managing a team of engineers and running complex projects through to delivery?
You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of power systems and will have the following skills and attributes to excel in this role: Minimum of Associate Diploma in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent and Electrical Trade Extensive experience in all aspects of Electrical Testing & Commissioning Moderate experience and understanding of contract management Previous team management / technical leadership experience Power Systems knowledge Benefits & Culture Our client's core values of integrity, quality and continuous improvement make them an employer of choice.
