This role is responsible for: Providing technical expertise and leadership to engineers in power electronics engineering, design and manufacturing practice at CEA. Performing high level system and/or detailed power electronic and simulations including power conversion, control, and interface circuits via analogue and digital components. Research, analysis and report writing. Working on complex R&D projects, often without well-defined specifications to formulate and optimise solutions. Working closely with the Digital, RF, Software and Mechanical Engineering teams. Supervision and being responsible for high level design and implementations. Under the guide and develop documentation such as performance specifications, interface control documents, Verification and Validation Plans, which are in line with broader CEA product development and verification programs. Working within established configuration and knowledge management structures. Managing the testing process from prototypes to complete system level (including EMC/EMI). Project/task specific research, analysis and report writing. Internal technical presentations. Tertiary qualifications including a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering (4 year) or higher / equivalent experience coupled with a minimum of 5 years' experience in power electronic circuit and/or system design. Post graduate engineering qualifications desirable. A high level of technical competence in power electronics. Experience with hands-on power electronics working on equipment above 5kW. Experience implementing and evaluating power electronics control systems, in firmware. Thorough understanding of fundamental power electronics and control theory, particularly in the digital domain. To be eligible for this position, you must be: Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance (NV1). The successful candidate MUST be able to obtain clearance prior to commencement.
