The Client & Role: We are currently working with an Australian investment firm who are looking for a Senior Portfolio Operations Analyst to join the organisation in a full-time capacity and work across their Overlays stream.
Key functions of the role would include rebalancing, foreign exchange management, transaction cost analysis, derivatives framework implementation and trade processing management.
Responsibilities: Showcase a high degree of initiative and a proactive approach to drive an optimal BAU delivery.
Ensure process efficiency and accuracy is always maintained.
Prepare instructions relating to the implementation of portfolio investment activities including FX requirements relating to the passive currency overlays.
Add value to performance via efficient FX position management.
Implement operational requirements associated with cleared derivative execution.
Implement operational requirements associated with over-the-counter derivative execution, including regulation, clearing, and establishing collateral management capabilities for managers and ISDA counterparties.
Produce daily rebalancing reports and be able to confidently interpret and validate the output for accuracy prior to sign-off.
Use third party TCA platforms to analyse and report on Investment Manager execution outcomes.
Creation of new Overlays accounts on Aladdin platform, liaising with internal operational teams to understand account attributes.
Review and execution of Give Up Agreements in conjunction with Legal team and associated parties.
Resolve complex and non-standard queries.
Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with internal procedure and control protocols.
Ensure high quality, current and accurate capture of processes via process mapping and procedure documentation.
Contribute to projects and initiatives to improve and develop the Portfolio Operations operating model.
Key member and active participant within the Portfolio Operations team and across the wider Operations group.
Regular interaction with other relevant external partners including ISDA Counterparties, Execution Agents, Clearing Agents and Transaction Cost Analysis providers.
Required Skills & Specialisms: Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, IT related disciplines Postgraduate or professional qualifications come highly regarded 7+ years' experience in Investment Operations across all investment sectors but particularly within cleared and/or bilateral derivatives.
Familiarity with derivative documentation including ISDA's, Cleared Derivative Execution Agreements and Give-Up Agreements Understand the applicability of transaction implementation processes across multiple asset classes.
Strong liquidity management experience and other treasury management functions come well regarded.
Proven ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A background in institutional funds management, custody services as well as industry or other superannuation funds comes highly regarded.
Demonstrated ability as a pro-active team player with tasks and issues assigned followed through to completion.
