PERSOLKELLY has recently been appointed as the sole recruitment partner for the Western Australian Electoral Commission and will be working to provide a 10,000 strong workforce, to deliver the next state election in 2025.
We are currently looking for the below roles to assist with the Elections next year:
Available PositionsPresiding Officer Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx. 2 days work – weekend work only)Level: 5Presiding Officers are appointed by the Returning Officer (RO) to manage personnel, election resources, and the polling place. This includes ensuring that electoral procedures are followed and supervising staff at the polling location. After 6 PM, the title of the Presiding Officer changes to Assistant Returning Officer.
Assistant Presiding Officer Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx. 2 days work – weekend work only)Level: 3Assistant Presiding Officers assist the Presiding Officer as needed, managing personnel and resources, and taking on the role of Substitute Presiding Officer when required. After 6 PM, they assist the Assistant Returning Officer in overseeing the counting and reconciliation process.
Declaration Officer Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx. 2 days work – weekend work only)Level: 1.3The Declaration Officer issues declaration votes on polling day to electors who are not on that district's electoral roll and assists with the packing up of election resources and reconciliation of ballot papers.
Early Presiding Officer Dates: 24th February until 7th March 2025 (approx. 11 days work – weekend & weekday work)Level: 5Early Presiding Officers manage personnel and resources at polling places open for up to 11 days before polling day.
Early Assistant Presiding Officer Dates: 24th February until 7th March 2025 (approx. 11 days work – weekend & weekday work)Level: 3Early Assistant Presiding Officers assist the Early Presiding Officer and help oversee counting and reconciliation operations after 6 PM on polling day.
Early Issuing / Counting Officer Dates: 24th February until 8th March 2025 (approx. 11 days work – weekend & weekday work)Times: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm (24th February – 7th March) and 5:00 pm – 12:00 am (8th March 2025)Level: 1.3Early Issuing Officers issue ballot papers and assist with the packing up of election resources and reconciliation of ballot papers.
Assistant Returning Officer Times: 5:00 pm – 12:00 amLevel: 5Assistant Returning Officers open ballot boxes, count votes, and tally results at designated counting locations.
Mobile Presiding Officer Dates: Between 23rd February and 8th March 2025 (3 days work – weekends/weekday)Level: 5The Mobile Presiding Officer manages the operation of mobile polling at various locations, ensuring adherence to electoral procedures.
Mobile Issuing Officer Dates: 23rd February until 8th March 2025 (3 days work – weekends/weekday)Level: 1.3Mobile Issuing Officers issue ballot papers and assist with election resource management.
Remote Presiding Officer Dates: 22nd February until 8th March 2025 (approx. 10 days work – weekends/ weekdays)Level: 5Remote Presiding Officers manage polling at remote locations, supervising staff and ensuring procedures are followed.
Remote Issuing Officer Dates: 22nd February until 8th March 2025 (approx. 10 days work – weekend/ weekdays)Level: 1.3Remote Issuing Officers assist with issuing ballot papers and managing election resources.
Returning Officer Assistant Dates: March 2025 (approx. 4 days work – may require weekend and weekday work)Level: 1.3The Returning Officer Assistant aids the RO with higher-level duties, including result entry and supporting the return of materials.
Returning Officer General Assistant Dates: Between 22nd February and 11th March 2025 (approx. 4 days work – weekends and weekday)Level: 1.1ROGAs assist with the receipt, sorting, and distribution of materials to Presiding Officers and other election-related tasks.
